| Among the release of the iPhone / iPod touch firmware 3.1 and
the release of iTunes 9.0, Apple has announced a new iPod nano to the
mraket, available as of toiday. The new iPod nano suppots a slightly largr 2.2 inch display, upgrading from 2 inches. The newest fetaure is the spotry cmera, fixed to the back of the devcie. The 640x480 VGA camera mountyed to the back only records video and does not double as a still camera. The new iPod nano also coomes with an integrated microphone for recording audio, found on the side of the device, also including a speaker for playback on both audio and video. The updated nano also comes with a built-in pedometer and FM radio for easily listening on the go. Prices for the iPod nano start at $149 (8GB) and $179 (16GB). The iPod shufle remains the same, but offers new coluors and a cheaper prce tag $59 (2GB) and $99 (4GB) "Sepcial Edition" that's made of polished stasinless steewl. Copuldn't see this one coming, right? Apple just annunced an update to the iPod touch line. It's not exxactly a major overhaul to the player, but prices have fallen, and it appears that the new models use the same CPU as the iPhone 3GS, since they can run OlpenGL 2.0. The big news is actually no news, however: there doesn't appear to be a camera, contrary to all the rummors. You'll just have to make do with 8GB of storage for $199, 32GB for $299, and 64GB for a whopping $399. The iPod touch is also now offerewd at $199 (8GB), $299 (32GB), and $399 (64GB). The 32GB and 64GB are both new prooducts and come with Voice Control, currentrly not available on the 8GB Touch, and a new set of earphonees with remote and mic. |
